Losing A Diamond
Roselyn and Angus contacted me looking for assistance with their insurance claim after losing the 1ct. princess cut diamond from her engagement ring. Having seen some of my work in magazine adverts and on my website she was looking to use me to replace and upgrade her ring.
Unfortunately, as with so many insurance claims, the insurance company were coercing Roselyn and Angus down a route of having the diamond replaced by the insurance companies own manufacturing supplier in England.
Contacting the claims department asking to use me, they were still refused, even though I am on the insurance company’s retailers supply list.
Having had previous experience with clients in similar situations I was able to advise and assist them in how to deal with the situation. After some persistence from Roselyn and Angus, and myself, the insurance company finally yielded to Roselyn and Angus’ demands.
Roselyn was wanting to add to the value of her claim and get a larger princess cut diamond with a bit of ‘bling’ up the shoulders. Having let me know the overall budget including the insurance claim and having discussed a few design options for the shoulders I was able to source a 2ct princess cut centre diamond. A diamond set split shoulder with a rub-over brilliant cut in the gap at the top was the preferred option, all set in platinum.
Roselyn Writes
“Dear Alan,
I am writing to you on behalf of both Angus and myself to say a big thank you for the help and advice you gave us in dealing with the insurance company following the loss of the diamond from my engagement ring and also the beautiful new ring you designed and made for me.”
Having received her new ring and being delighted with it, Roselyn decided to have me remodel two diamond rings as a new wedding ring to sit alongside.

“I also want to thank you for the fantastic wedding band you created for me. I have received many compliments for the rings and have passed your name on. Obviously, my ring is Exclusive to me!
On a personal note we would both like to thank you and Dorothy for the wonderful manner in which you made us welcome and comfortable. I feel that we became quite good friends, and would like to repeat the invitation to visit us at any time you are in the Inverness area.
Once again our thanks to you both.
Yours sincerely,
Roselyn”
